David Lee Millard, II, 85, of Jensen Beach, FL, passed away Wednesday October 25, 2017 at Treasure Coast Hospice of Martin in Stuart, FL.
He was born March 10, 1932 in Brilliant, OH, a son of the late William McDonald and Dorothy E. (Harris) Millard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Handy in 2009; and his brother, William F. Millard.
David was a graduate of Kentucky Christian College. He was a Missionary in Rhodesia for 20 years. He also had businesses while in Rhodesia and was the owner of the Dutch Oven Restaurant. He was an Ambassador for the International Brotherhood of Magicians, while he was an Ambassador he did a worldwide tour doing magic shows and lecturing on magic. After he came back to the United States, he was a Minister of the Stuart Christian Church. David was also the Mayor of Sewall’s Point for a few years. He was the HAM radio Operator that was active in Maritime Emergencies, such as hurricanes.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma (Poole) Millard, whom he married June 1, 1953; a son, Dr. Dan Millard and his wife Patricia Ponder of Daphne, Alabama and their three daughters, Jessica, Erin, and Katy; a son, David Lee (Susie) Millard III of Brilliant and their children, David Lee IV, Jeremy and Amanda; a daughter, Linda Millard of Port St. Lucie, FL; and his late daughter Gail’s son, Jonathan Millard. David also has twelve great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Brilliant Christian Church, 323 High St., Brilliant, on Thursday November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Marc R. Tinstman, Minister officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
