My deepest sympathy to all the Saffle family. Bill and I had been working on the reunion for next year and it was nice to catch up on each other's lives after 40 + years. Bill talked about his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter all the time. There was no doubt that all you were the loves of his life and his pride and joy. May the Lord place his healing hands on your hearts.

I remember Bill being one of the lifeguards at the pool when I was a kid. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. He was one of the nicest guys. Sorry to hear of his passing.

To Bill's children, grandchildren, great granddaughter, and sisters, I knew Bill for close to fifty years and the one constant was his family! Nothing meant more to him than all of you! Bill and I had lockers next to each other all through high school, we taught swimming together at the Mingo pool and life guarded there together and let me say this... it was always an adventure! The last time we spoke was at his grandsons preschool graduation, being the Bill I knew, so proud of his family! He was known as "the legend" but I like to think of him more as "the ambassador"! May you all find some solace knowing that he was loved by many and will not be forgotten! Now your swimming with the BIG Fish, RIP my friend!
