Joseph B. Taylor

Joseph B. “Joe” Taylor, 76, of Rayland, Ohio, passed away Wednesday January 11, 2017 at home.

He was born November 30, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Julianna (Vargo) Taylor.

Joe retired after 37 years from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he was a craneman in the 80 inch. He was Protestant by Faith. Joe was a good mentor to young kids for many years; coaching softball, baseball and Babe Ruth for the Brilliant Little League for 15 years. He was also the past president of both the Brilliant Little League and the Buckeye North Boosters. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Joe loved his family and was a loyal friend to so many people.

Surviving are his loving companion, Karen Rusnak of Rayland, OH; a son, Denny (Amy) Taylor; three daughters, Jami (Andy) Cammer, Stephanie (Randy) Lewis and Denise (Justin) Rusnak, all of New Alexandria, OH; a brother, C. Herb (Harriet) Taylor of Cheyenne, WY; three sisters, Dolly Finley of Richmond, OH, Jayne (Ron) Brandfass and Judy (Bill) Dollison both of Brilliant, OH; eight grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Cammer, DJ and Cameron Rusnak, Erica and Seth Lewis, and Kylee and Hayden Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and his furry companions, his dog, Jasper and cats, Skeeter, Lucy and Tigger.

Friends will be received to celebrate Joe’s life on Saturday January 14th at the Brilliant Presbyterian Church, 200 Main St., Brilliant, from Noon until the time of his memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenn Sickle, officiating.
