Pat and family, sorry I'm out of the valley and never got to know you all. You had a very very special husband, father, grandfather, and I'm sad to hear he has gone on to heaven before us. My deepest condolences on your loss.

Gary and I met in junior high school, went to high school together, and had the honor of playing for Kettlewell, where we learned many of our life lessons. We apparently shared most of the same interests in later life. I did however choose Army over Air Force.

Gary and his smiling laugh, will be missed by all who knew him, myself included. Let me know if I can do anything for you or your family.

Events like these are a supreme test of our faith in our heart of hearts. Our faith tells us this moment of ascention is to be celebrated, but that's hard when our heart is feeling such pain of loss. Be assured we will meet him again in God's glorious kingdom.

My father left a poem when he passed in '92 that I'll share here with you. I hope and pray it will bring each of you the solace it has brought myself and others in times of loss.

I'M FREE

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has chosen for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I've now found peace at the end of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things, I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
Look for the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen your pain with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and peace to thee,
God wanted me now-He set me free

Pat and family,
So sorry for your loss. I meant Gary a few times and always had great talks with him. He was a wonderful man. So kind and caring. I could see the love between Gary and Pat. He is resting now with Jesus. Fly high with Jesus, Gary. Watch over Pat and your family. You are now their Guardian Angel. Rest in peace.
