Gary L. Windon

Gary L. Windon, 64, of Columbiana, OH formerly of New Alexandria, OH, passed away Saturday January 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
 
He was born March 7, 1952 in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late John R. and Dorothy L. (Barker) Windon, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Windon.
 
Gary retired from Weirton Steel Corp., where he was a Pipefitter and Welder. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed collecting military and historical guns. He also loved hunting and the outdoors. Gary was also a private pilot and enjoyed flying; but his favorite love was his family.
 
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Bright) Windon, whom he married August 29, 1975; two daughters, Erin (Chris) Windon Walline of Maumee, OH and Brianna Windon of Columbiana, OH; two brothers, John (Lisa) Windon, Jr. of Wintersville, OH and Michael Windon of Fayetteville, GA; two sisters, Terri Windon of Punta Gorda, FL and Lori (Kurt) Kale of Jewett, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Regina Windon of Charleston, SC; and four grandchildren, Isabella Henceroth, Jacob Walline, Brandon Walline and Brielle Walline.
 
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at Noon with Rev. Don Monaco, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery, with Military Honors by Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
