Thomas A. "Foxy" Fox

Thomas A. “Foxy” Fox, 67, of Brilliant, OH, passed away peacefully Friday July 3, 2020 at home.

He was born April 19, 1953 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Robert A. “Tick” and Patricia A. (Kennedy) Fox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Lynn Fox.

Foxy retired in 2006 from Weirton Steel Corp where he worked for 33 years. After his retirement he went to work for Rick Miller Construction. Tom graduated from Brilliant High School in 1971, and excelled in football. He was also inducted into the Brilliant Blue Devil Hall of Fame for football. He was a longtime member of the Mingo Sportsman Club and the NFLCC. Tom enjoyed bass fishing, mowing the lawn, antiquing especially antique fishing tackle, and rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surviving are his wife, Janet R. (Kakascik) Fox, whom he married on Aug. 16, 1974; a daughter, Allison “Squirrel” Fox and her fiancé John Raymond of Mingo Junction, OH; two sisters, Debbie Sutphin of Brilliant, OH and Tricia “Skip” Fox of Steubenville; a grandson, Bly Dolby; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Charity Hospice, their neighbor Jena Smith and Foxy’s longtime friends that visited him.

There will be a celebration of Foxy’s life at Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of his memorial service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Mel Timberlake, officiating. Please dress casual and wear your Ohio State apparel.

Masks and social distancing are encouraged when you visit the funeral home.
