Thelma L. "T" Peterson

Thelma L. “T” Peterson, 78, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Saturday September 8, 2018 at Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born March 31, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert C. and Alma (Haislet) Mumaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Mumaw and an infant brother.

Thelma was a bartender and waitress, she also owned the former Hometown Luncheonette in Mingo. She was Presbyterian by Faith. T’s house was always open to company especially during the holidays and she had a heart of gold.

Surviving are four children, Mary Ann (Jeff) Brettell of Gibsonia, PA, Terri Wolf of Havelock, NC, Jerry “Bo” Starr of Mingo Junction, OH and Bill Starr of Southern California; a brother, Raymond (Kim) Mumaw of Wintersville, OH; a sister, Mary Ann (the late Ronald) Pugh of Wintersville, OH; a sister-in-law, Roseann Law of Smithfield, OH; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, where her funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., with Michael Gromczewski, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
