Shirley J Polen

SHIRLEY J. POLEN, 70, Plum Run Road, Rayland, OH, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born April 12, 1952 in Brilliant, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ernest & Lottie “Liz” Polen.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Gerald Polen. 

Shirley was a retired employee of Tri-State Asphalt Corporation, working out of their Rayland Terminal.  She was a kind & gentle person, who enjoyed spoiling her nieces & nephews.

Surviving are a sister, Betty (Ray) Hilderbrand of Steubenville, OH; two brothers, George (Joan) Polen of Rayland and William Polen of Dillonvale, OH; and several nieces and nephews, the closest to her were, Jason Polen of Rayland, OH,  Amanda (Alex) Gruber of Wheeling, WV, and Christina Adams of Jamestown, PA.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the Service at 1:00 p.m., with Kenny Kourim, officiating.  Interment will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
