Scott A. Gordon

Scott A. “Joe Pickett” Gordon, 61, of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away Friday December 12, 2025 at the Luxe Rehabilitation and Care Center in Lancaster, OH.

He was born September 29, 1964, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late James H. and Mary C. (Ludewig) Gordon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth “Kenny” Gordon and William “Billy” Gordon.

Scott graduated from Mingo High School in 1983. He began his career as a driver for Nickles Bakery in Martins Ferry, later joining Freedom Ford as a commercial car salesman, where he was recognized as Virginia’s top salesman for one year. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, OH. Scott was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and he enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Heather (Markland) Gordon, whom he married March 16, 1997; seven children, Alexander Gordon of Loveland, CO, Allyson Gordon of Steubenville, OH, Rebecca Willison of Norfolk, VA, Abigail Gordon of Steubenville, OH, David Gordon of Martins Ferry, OH, Janie Gordon of St. Clairsville, OH and Kimberly Gordon of St. Clairsville, OH; a brother, James H. (Pattie) Gordon of Greenwood, IN; and seven grandchildren, Asher, Aspyn, Lucy, Aleecia, Vee, Axel and Aysin.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
