Scott Darrah Obituary
Scott E. “Red Dog” Darrah, 47, of Brilliant, OH, passed away on Friday December 25, 2020 at home.
He was born August 14, 1973 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of David Darrah of Proctor, WV and Patricia (Taylor) Herron of Brilliant, OH.
Scott worked out of Laborers Local 809 where he was a pipeline foreman and he was in the Teamsters Union 110. The last company he worked for was TR Services. He also owned Right Price Tree Service. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Haiti on a peace keeping mission. He was recently baptized at the Brilliant Christian Church. Red Dog was a kickboxing champion for New York State and he also won a Toughman contest in Steubenville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Theresa (Lewis) Darrah; seven children, Scott Elliott (Elizabeth) Starr of Mingo Junction, OH, Brittany Darrah of Texas, Corey Darrah of Brilliant, OH, Allison (Joseph) Ciz of Zelienople, PA, George Mavromatis of Brilliant, OH, Nicholas Mavromatis of Huntington Beach, CA and Trenton Bensie of Brilliant, OH; four brothers, David Darrah of Brilliant, OH, Mike (Jackie) Darrah of Florida, Justin (Nicole) Hethcox of St. Clairsville, OH and Joseph Goski of Follansbee, WV; and nine grandchildren, Auna, Neena, Scott Kason and Ryker Starr, Olivia Stevens, Sienna “Honey Bunny” Darrah, and Joey, Letty and Nellie Ciz.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Sunday January 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until the time of his memorial service at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Fulton, officiating. Masks are absolutely required and please do not linger after you pay your respects.
