Rose Ann (Tassey) Wingo

Rose Ann (Tassey) Wingo, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday March 17, 2025 at NHC Nursing Home in Charleston SC.

She was born January 15, 1940 in Weirton, WV, a daughter of the late Rose T. (Vanihel) Dyke. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Clarence B Wingo; and her grandson, Ian Maxwell Wingo.

She was a retired employee of Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto, Ohio. She was Catholic by faith and enjoyed golfing and ballroom dancing with her significant other, James A Simmons of Edinburg, Texas.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan Wingo Baker (Billy) of Summerville, SC; a son, Clarence B. “Bernie” Wingo, III (Paula) of North Lima, Ohio; and two grandsons, Justin Allen Moore and Niko Wingo.

Private interment at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, OH.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff at NHC Nursing Home (Wando unit) and Caris Hospice of Charleston for the care and compassion they provided.
