Ronald J. “Ron” Weisenborn, 73, of Brilliant, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday May 24, 2023 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio, surrounded by his family.
He was born September 14, 1949 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Earl F. and Mary Margaret (Schafer) Weisenborn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Laverne Weisenborn; and a step-daughter, Patricia A. (Neal) Graham.
Ron retired from American Electric Power after working for 40 years as an Electrical Engineer. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. Ron was a member of the Cardinal Power Plant golf club and a social member of the Brilliant American Legion, where he played poker on Tuesday nights.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly (Flanagan) Weisenborn, whom he married February 21, 1987; three daughters, Dr. Danielle Weisenborn and her husband Dr. Thomas Macabobby of Canfield, OH, Jessica Weisenborn (Eric) Long of Naples, FL and Michele (Frank) Frey of Steubenville, OH; a step-son, Millard W. (Lisa) Neal of Mt. Pleasant, OH; four brothers, Gerald (Sheila) Weisenborn of Charlottesville, VA, Dennis (Sue) Weisenborn of Byesville, OH, Mark (Pat) Weisenborn of Barboursville, VA and Eric Weisenborn of Wheeling, WV; two sisters, Janet Hershberger of Wheeling, WV and Kathy (Bruce) Keedy of Wheeling, WV; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Brendan Frey, Ethan, Andrew and Clair Macabobby and Sophia and Jacob Long; two step-granddaughters, Bella and Abigail Neal; and his faithful furry companion, Gracie “Wookie”.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant. On Wednesday there will be viewing at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Private interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling, WV.
There will be a vigil service on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
