Robert J. Eltringham

Robert J. “Bob” Eltringham, 78, of Rayland, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday July 4, 2023 at home.

He was born May 23, 1945, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Charles and Florence (Clark) Eltringham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Tom Eltringham and two infant brothers; and sister, Ellen Kovarik and one infant sister.

Bob worked out of Sheet Metal Local 33 and he also worked at the former Atkins Sheet Metal Shop in Martins Ferry, OH. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Plum Run CCCU Church. Bob enjoyed antique cars and street rods, camping, wintering in Florida, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Mossor) Eltringham, whom he married September 11, 1965; two daughters, Dana (Jeffrey) Sindeldecker of Rayland, OH and Lana (Gerald) Robertson of Angus, Ontario Canada; a sister, Glenna (Bob) Kinkus of Rayland, OH; six grandchildren, Devin (Madalyn) Sindeldecker, Dillon (Hannah) Sindeldecker, Dalton (Kayla) Sindeldecker, Deacon Sindeldecker, Baron Casto and Avery Robertson; and four great-grandchildren, Joseph, Case, Ainsley and Ellianna Sindeldecker.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, where his funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kenneth Mossor and Rev. Randy Barker, officiating.  Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
