Ralph R. Ross, Sr., 85, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Saturday May 28, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Weirton, WV.
He was born September 29, 1936 in Mingo Junction, OH a son of the late Jack and Jennie (Ross) Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. (Search) Ross; and a sister, Jeanette Gould.
Ralph retired in 2000 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he was an Instrument Repairman and Supervisor. He was the co-owner of Seasonal Crafts in Mingo with his wife Edna. Ralph was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He achieved the highest amateur ham radio license obtainable. He also coached Mingo Little League Baseball for many years. He loved watching football and golf and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Surviving are three children, Debra (Joe) McLaughlin of Mingo Junction, OH, Ralph Ross, Jr. of Brilliant, OH and Jack Ross of Mingo Junction, OH; two brothers, Joe (Mary) Ross of Mingo Junction, OH and Albert (Vickey) Ross of Follansbee, WV; six grandchildren, Cheyenne McLaughlin, Cherokee (John) McLaughlin-Tice, Antonio McLaughlin, Jerry McLaughlin, Caitlynn McLaughlin and Ashley McLaughlin; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH. On Friday there will be visitation at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
There will be a Vigil service on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
