Paul Scott, 81, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Friday May 14, 2021 at home.
He was born April 18,1940 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Harry T. and Evelyn (Bell) Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Brown.
Paul retired in 2002 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp where he worked on the railroad. He served his country as a Military Police in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Paul was a member of the Brilliant Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon. He was a member of the Brilliant American Legion Post 573 and was former vice commander. Paul enjoyed sitting with his coffee buddies in the morning, scratching lottery tickets, and feeding the birds and cats.
Surviving are his wife, Karen A. (Owens) Scott, whom he married February 26, 1972; two daughters, Rachel (Bill) Quaigg of Steubenville, OH and Kim (Josh) Arnett of Dillonvale, OH; a brother, Robert (Sandy) Scott of Orient, OH; three grandchildren, Brad Quaigg and Kamryn and Kennedy Arnett; and his three cats, Terry, Domino and Pepper.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. There will be services by the Brilliant American Legion at 1:00 p.m. then his funeral service with Rev. John Ater, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery with military honors by the Brilliant American Legion. Masks are required at the funeral home.
