Paul Grim Obituary

Paul D. Grim, 88, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Sunday June 8, 2025 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

He was born October 22, 1936, in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Grover C. and Hazel Anna (Booth) Grim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia M. Grim, whom passed away January 31, 2004; a daughter, Debbie Kalinowski; a brother, Oliver Grim; four sisters, Helen Gray, Dorothy “Dot” Ekey, Margaret Westfall and Myrtle Grim; and a son-in-law, Mark Julian.

Paul retired from Satralloy. He was Catholic and Presbyterian by Faith. At 88, he may have left this world, but his spirit never aged. He was young at heart until the very end-playful, full of life, and always finding joy in the little things. He never acted his age because his spirit didn't know how to grow old-it just knew how to love. He'd play his numbers like clockwork-hopeful, lighthearted, and always believing that maybe today was his lucky day. He'd feed the birds and deer without fail, like they were part of the family. And in a way, they were—because Pappy's heart had room for everyone. But most of all, he loved his grandkids and great grandchildren. That love wasn't quiet or hidden-it was loud, constant, and full of pride. His family was his world, and he made sure they knew it.

Surviving are his daughter, Cathy Julian of Mingo Junction, OH; two sisters, Emy Carducci and Judy Podolak, both of New Cumberland, WV; five grandchildren, Trevor (Danielle) Kalinowski, Kayla (James) Ellis, Michelle (Brian) Timmons, Kristen (Matt) Belardine, and Brandon (Lexie) Julian; and nine great-grandchildren, Ty and Vinny Kalinowski, Camden and Mila Timmons, Birdie and Mya Belardine, Maleah and Bobby Ellis, and Braden Julian.

Friends will be received to celebrate his life on Monday July 7th at the First Westminster Presbyterian Church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of his memorial service at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Elliott, officiating.
