Mary Jean Hoover, 75, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 9, 2021 in her home.
She was born May 15, 1946 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Harry and Clara (Heroff) Garretson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Hoover, Sr. on August 7, 2010; two sisters, Nadine Price and Verda Jackson; and a brother, Les Garretson.
Mary Jean was a homemaker and she also used to work for Indian Creek School District as a crossing guard and in the cafeteria. She graduated from Mingo High School in 1964. Mary Jean was a member of Rosemont Chapel and the Rosebells at the church. She enjoyed shopping and playing Pogo online.
Surviving are two daughters, Melony (Charles) McBride and Valary Hoover, both of Mingo Junction, OH; four grandchildren, Shane McBride, Breanna Hoover, Chase McBride and Blaine Babel; and four great-grandchildren, Grady McBride, Keeghan McBride, Kingslee Clark and Lincoln Johnson.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH, on Monday October 18th from 2:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral services at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles “Sonny” Shoe, officiating. Private entombment at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.
