Mary J. "Janie" (Bane) Hood

Mary J. “Janie” Hood, 77, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday August 31, 2024 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

She was born May 20, 1947 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Frances (Steen) Bane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles “Charlie” Bane, Ernest “Sonny” Bane and Herman Bane; and a sister, Barbara Green.

Janie graduated from Brilliant Memorial High School. She was a manager at the former Hardees in Steubenville, then she worked at Vapor Jet in the laundry department until the time of her retirement. Janie enjoyed traveling with her husband and other family members. She enjoyed seeing different places and going to the Amish Country.

Surviving are her husband, Edwin Hood; a daughter, Tina (Tom) Zook of Wintersville, OH, two sons, Patrick McLaughlin of Steubenville, OH and Michael McLaughlin of Steubenville, OH; and seven grandchildren.
