Martha L. Bradley

Martha L. Bradley, 97, of Brilliant, OH passed away peacefully Saturday December 22, 2018 at the home of her daughter Margaret, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 9, 1921 in New Alexandria, OH, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Bertha E. (Roe) Melching. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 ½ years, H. John Bradley on June 16, 2011; a son, Dennis Bradley; a daughter, Karen (Lee) Hunt; two brothers, Clarence E. Melching and an infant; and a sister, Corena Whaley.

Martha was a retired clerk at the former Hub Department Store in Steubenville. She was a member of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; the New Alexandria Community Chapel Guild, the Liberty Grange, the Heart of Ohio Tole in Columbus, OH and volunteered at Trinity Medical Center East.

She is survived by two sons, John “Jay” (Alice) Bradley of LaGrange, OH and Galen “Butch” (Barbara) Bradley of Wears Valley, TN; three daughters, Carol (Andy) Holzapfel of Wellston, OH, Phyllis (William) Martin of Centennial, CO; and Margaret (Ralph “Sonny”) Nickoson of Brilliant, OH, with whom she resided; a daughter-in-law, Donna Bradley of Avon Lake, OH; fourteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with her grandsons, Bill and Lee Paul Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
