Lou Anne Craven, 93, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Wednesday November 3, 2021 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
She was born September 24, 1928 in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of the late Wilbur H. and Mazie (Dunfee) Emery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall B. Craven on March 14, 2018; and two sisters, Marie Beresford (Marian) and Alice Snyder (Alex).
Lou Anne was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Lou Anne loved music, playing cards, doing puzzles and sending cards. If you want to honor her sing a song, play a game of solitaire, do a jigsaw puzzle, send a card to a friend or spend time with family.
She was a member of the Brilliant United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Circle at the church; a 70-year member of the LaBelle Chapter of Eastern Stars, Unionport OES, White Shrine, Beauceants, Brilliant Senior Citizens, Past Matrons, and 3 card clubs. She served as Grand Representative to Utah, Grand Page to the Grand Organist, Grand Page to the Deputy Grand Matron and loved being the secretary of her Eastern Star Chapter. She worked at the Wheeling Pittsburgh Payroll office and Brilliant Elementary as an aide until her retirement.
She leaves behind a son, Don Craven of Willowick, OH; a daughter, Pam (Ross) Dillahunt of Tipp City, OH; five grandchildren, Rachel (Ben) Markley, Jonathan (Mary Ellen) Craven, Mark Dillahunt, Luke Dillahunt and Matthew Craven; one great-grandson, Patrick Craven; and a special niece, Rae (Mike) Buckey.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH on Sunday from 1-3 and 5-7 and also on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Daugherty, officiating. MASKS ARE REQUESTED. Private interment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH. There will be an Eastern Star Service on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed in Lou Anne’s memory to the Brilliant United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 525 Labelle St., Brilliant, OH 43913.
