Lawrence E. Huggins

Lawrence E. Huggins, 87, of Brilliant, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday June 28, 2022 at the home of his daughter Sallie.

He was born May 30, 1935 in New Martinsville, WV a son of the late Clyde Huggins and Pearl (Trayon) Barr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Willey and two sisters, Dolores Pool and Laura Maine.

Lawrence worked at Lathem Motors for his friend Brownie, that was like a father to him. He also worked at Satralloy, Weldon Trucking and Standard Slag. His passion was for police work. He was the police chief for Brilliant for 30+ years, and he also worked as a Jailer at the Jefferson County Jail. He also delivered flowers for Thompson’s Florist. Lawrence enjoyed going to car shows.

He is survived by his daughter Sallie Siva; a granddaughter, Melanie (Bryan) Muscari; and a great-grandson, Ashton Muscari, all of Brilliant, OH.

A special thank you to all of Lawrence’s caregivers throughout the last 3 years as well as Amedysis Hospice, the Brilliant Volunteer Fire Department and the Wells Township Police Department.

There will be a celebration of Lawrence’s life at the Wells Township Community Park on Tuesday July 5th from 5-7 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. there will be a memorial service by Pastor Sam Davis. Those who loved him, and close family and friends are welcome. Covered dishes are welcome.
