Kathleen M. (Dawson) Brockway

Kathleen “Kathy” (Dawson) Brockway, 80, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Wednesday August 27, 2025, at home.

She was born on April 11, 1945 in Lisbon, OH, a daughter of the late Taylor G. and Vida G. (Robinson) Dawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Byrley; eight brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Russel, Jim, George, Loyd, Clifford and Don Dawson; and a sister, Linda Woodland.

Kathleen was a dedicated homemaker who worked tirelessly both inside and outside her home. She liked crafts, puzzles, and scratch-offs. She was also a volunteer for the former Mingo Social Services.

Surviving are her husband, Harry E. Brockway whom she married July 20, 1991; three children, Tina Byrley of Mingo Junction, OH, Jeff Byrley of Barnesville, OH and Kenny Byrley of Toronto, OH; two sisters, Dorothy (Chuck) Hayes of Lancaster, OH and Betty Smith of Toronto, OH; two step-children, Harry E. (Kellie) Brockway, Jr. of Casa Grande, AZ and Jeannie (Robert) Dyer of Georgia; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Vaughn Foster, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction.
