Karen L. (Dowell) Rusnak

Karen L. Rusnak, 71, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Wednesday March 19, 2025 at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.

She was born October 2, 1953 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Alvin and Margaret (Blaine) Dowell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Korky Kovach; and her longtime companion, Joseph Taylor.

Karen was a retired registered nurse and worked at several nursing homes in Ohio Valley. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, listening to music and looking for and collecting rocks.

She is survived by three children, Chrissy Dennison and her companion Bob Ogden of Smithfield, OH, Melissa Rusnak of Sistersville, WV and Paul (Shelby) Rusnak of Wintersville, OH; six grandchildren, Noelle and Owen Dennison, Chase Judge, Lainey Hartman and Ben and Izzy Rusnak; and her five dogs, Clyde, Wrigley, Oreo, Sarge and Leia.

Friends will be received to celebrate her life at her memorial visitation on Monday March 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH,
