Joseph William "Bill" Minch

Joseph William “Bill” Minch, 80, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Saturday January 25, 2025 at the Villa Vista Nursing Home in Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born April 30, 1944 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late William J. and Mary (Paulette) Minch.

Bill retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked as a crane operator. He was also a business owner for many years in Mingo. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army in strategic command stationed in Bangkok during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and graduated from Mingo High School in 1962.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Evelyn (Damico) Minch, whom he married July 25, 1970; three daughters, Shannon (Stephen) Minch-Hughes of Mingo Junction, OH, Dr. Holly (Charles) Minch-Hick of Mingo Junction, OH and Nicole Mascio of Wintersville, OH; a son, Sam Anderson of Toronto, OH; four grandchildren, Aiden Minch-Hick, Domenic Mascio, Gianna Minch-Hick and Nicholas Mascio; and his furry companion, Mingo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Vista for the wonderful care they gave to Bill. They especially would like to extend a special thank you to Makayla Tingler.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH. On Wednesday there will be viewing at St.

Agnes Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, with military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

There will be a vigil service on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.
