James “Jim” Aleksiejczyk, 64, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Monday March 2, 2020, in the James Cancer Center at OSU in Columbus, OH.
He was born April 28, 1955 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica R. (Madis) Aleksiejczyk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his first wife, Kathy Aleksiejczyk; a son, Robert Aleksiejczyk; two brothers, Thomas and Joseph Aleksiejczyk; and an infant sister, Janet Aleksiejczyk.
Jim retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked Security and he also worked for the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with his family. He loved telling stories and was a jack of all trades.
Surviving are his wife, Karen (McGraw) Aleksiejczyk, whom he married September 1, 2007; a daughter, Tiffany Aleksiejczyk and her fiancé Josh Channels and Jessica Lawson, all of Pataskala, OH; a son, Kevin (Stephanie) Aleksiejczyk of Pennsylvania; two step-sons, Dustin Goodman of Goshen, OH and Colton Goodman of Wilmington, OH; a sister, Joyce Davis of Avella, PA; four grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Aleksiejczyk, Avery Goodman and Keagan Trout; and one grandchild on the way, Lincoln James
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 and also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jason Elliott, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
