Ina M. Chidester

Ina M. Chidester, 78, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Tuesday February 25, 2025 at the PAM Health Specialty Hospital in Oakdale, PA.

She was born May 24, 1946 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Elizabeth (Anderson) Petrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Ched” Chidester, Jr.; a sister, Ellen M. Lash; a nephew, Richard M. “Rick” Lash; and her fur babies, Blacktop and MacGyver.

Ina retired from Timet in Toronto where she was a cost accountant for over 40 years. She was an active member of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church, serving as Treasurer, Deacon and Elder. She was also a member of the Torchbearer Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Ina was an avid reader and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.

Surviving are two sisters, Marjorie (the late Robert) Crawford and Michaelene (John) Slivka both of Mingo Junction, OH; five nephews, Robert (Annette) Crawford, Bryan (Joann) Crawford, Michael (Karen) Crawford, Mark (Kristy) Crawford and Stephen Slivka; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Vaughn Foster, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow at Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto, OH.
