Hattie C. (Thompson) Hays

Hattie C. Hays, 88, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Tuesday April 29, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. 

She was born July 11, 1936 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Willie and Goldie (Edge) Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald “Jack” Hays; a son, Lawrence Paul Bouchet; three sisters, Joyce Thompson, Josephine Oliver and Janet Dodson; a brother, James Richard Thompson; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Thompson; a brother-in-law, Jim Boyuk; and a great-grandson, Daniel Paul Bouchet.

Hattie was a waitress at The Wheel Restaurant in Steubenville on 6th and Market. She was Catholic by Faith and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Surviving are six siblings, Jeanette (Lou) Panebianco, Mary (Joe) Ross, William F. Thompson, Albert (Maryann) Thompson and Rhonda Boyuk all of Mingo Junction, OH and Timothy (Maggie) Thompson of Jacksonville, AL; a step-son, Don (Patti) Hays of Mingo Junction, OH; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jake) Martin, Donald Paul Bouchet, Jonathan Patrick Bouchet, Dave (Carrie) Hays and Chrissy (Ed) See; and two great-grandchildren, Lillyanna and Ava Rose Martin.

In following with Hattie’s wishes there are no services. Private entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
