Harry R. Chambers, 86, of Austintown, OH, passed away Monday July 8, 2024 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ, while he was visiting his Arizona family.
He was born October 2, 1937, in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Harry N. and Wilma C. (McDevett) Chambers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene E. (Joiner) Chambers; an infant son, Harry N. Chambers; and a sister, Ruby McGough.
Harry was a retired supervisor at steel mills first at Pfizer then Mineral Technologies. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was inducted into the Brilliant Hall of Fame in 2022. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, animals of all kinds, and western novels. He enjoyed time with family, especially his great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three children, Ronald (Terri) Chambers of San Tan Valley, AZ, Tamara K. (Bob) Basile of Columbus, OH, and Amber Chambers of Austintown, OH; nine grandchildren, Breann (Heath), Shanda, Zachery, Jacob (Alex Tyler), Isabella-Rose, Chasity, Journee, Angeline (Joel) and Joshua; four great-grandchildren, Canyon, Sterling, Ketch, and Zion; a sister-in-law, LaDonna Cutri; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at New Alexandria Cemetery on Saturday August 17th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Sholtz, officiating and military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Squad.
