Grace A. “Joann” Piddock, 81, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Sunday August 1, 2021 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
She was born January 31, 1940 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Norman W. and Maxine L. (Skinner) Wedlake. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Piddock; her companion of 35 years, Floyd Howell; an infant son, Chuckie Lee VanVoltenburg; and three brothers, Terri, John Joseph “Jack”, and Charles Wedlake.
Joann was a homemaker and a former member of both the Wintersville Baptist Temple and the Eagles in Follansbee, WV. She was a member of the Brilliant American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons, William L. VanVoltenburg of Follansbee, WV, Michael (Donna) VanVoltenburg of Baltimore, MD and Daniel (Melissa) Howell of Steubenville, OH; six grandchildren, Louann (Carl) Dunlevy, Michael (Kristen) VanVoltenburg, Nicholas VanVoltenburg, Caleb Singer, Brittany and Billy; five great-grandchildren, Weston (Brandi) Wilson, Jessica (Brad) Sowers, Aiden, Carter and Maleah VanVoltenburg; two great-great-grandchildren, Lyliann and Declan.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH. American Legion Auxiliary services will take place at 1:00 p.m. and her funeral services will follow, with Rev. John Ater, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
