George "Bill" LaRue, Sr. Obituary

George “Bill” LaRue, Sr., 89, of Brilliant, OH passed away Monday January 7, 2019 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

He was born April 12, 1929 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late George and Sylvia (Watson) LaRue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph LaRue and a brother, David LaRue.

Bill retired in 1983 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he was an hourly rated foreman. He was a member of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing euchre.

Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Kathryn “Joann” LaRue, whom he married December 13, 1947; a son, Bill “Lash” (Sandy) LaRue of Steubenville, OH; a daughter, Cathy (Harold “Buster”) Woodward of Rayland, OH; eight grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church on Friday January 11th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenn Sickle, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Homes.
