Floyd Beall Obituary

Floyd A. Beall, 63, graduate of Buckeye North High School Class of 1978, served in the US Army Reserve, attended Salem-Teikyo University to play football, beloved husband, big brother, stepdad, and perhaps his favorite role of all “Poppy Bear” passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023. In his usual custom, Floyd lived powerfully, courageously, optimistically, selflessly, with the best interest of others on his mind.

He was born December 21, 1959 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Floyd L. and Daisy J. Beall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Laura Marie Miller, and nephew, Floyd Russell Dillon Beall, his beloved, Charlie, and countless rescued pets throughout the years.

Floyd is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela S. (Martin) Beall, three daughters, Heather Toale of Westerville, OH; Mary Toale (Katherine Thweatt) of Phoenix, NY; and Michele (Mark) Lamp of Powhatan Point, OH; three siblings, Walter “Bub” Beall of Mingo Junction, OH, Nancy Beall of Brilliant, OH, and Janie (Albert) Miller of Mingo Junction, OH.; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, eleven nieces and nephews, extensive extended family, and Tippy the basset yellow lab mix.

Floyd was a lover of all creatures great and small taking care to show kindness and compassion to anyone in his presence. Over the years, Floyd and his wife Pam rescued countless dogs and cats. He joined their precious dog Charlie and all the others who were waiting for him to play with them and bask once again in his big, unconditional love. If he could have, he would have given homes to all the homeless animals and children. He was known for his kind spirit, tough exterior, robust laugh, giving soul, love of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes, and being his genuine self. He lived a life without judgment of others giving him the freedom to love with every bit of his Poppy Bear, bear-sized heart.

Floyd never planned on marriage. Smitten from the start when he met Pam; Floyd knew he had to be with Pam forever. Married within months of meeting, they’ve been together 33 years. They were each other’s everything.

A celebration of Floyd’s life will take place in late spring/early summer.
