Florence M. "Flo" (Meloy) Coen

Florence M. “Flo” Coen, 93, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Wednesday January 28, 2026 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

She was born September 21, 1932 in Taylorstown, PA, a daughter of the late Alford W. and Anna (Sickles) Meloy Britton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Paul “KP” Coen on July 26, 2006; a daughter, Paula Pasco; a brother, William “Robert” Meloy; her step-father, Ira Britton; and two great-grandchildren, Sierra Brianne and Keshawn Wilson.

Flo was a retired cosmetologist and owned her own shop. She was a member of the Brilliant Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Circle at the church. She also worked the election polls for 61 years. She was a member of several different card clubs and enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are three children, Suanna Crew of Steubenville, OH, Richard (Colleen) Coen of Brilliant, OH and Mark (Karen) Coen of Zanesville, OH; eleven grandchildren, Dawn Marie, John Michael, Brandon, Johnsy, Shelly, James, Sarah, Emily, Arielle, Cameron and William “Trey”; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Darla Schnegg, officiating. Private interment at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, OH.
