Emma M. Proger, 77, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Friday March 12, 2021 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
She was born January 28, 1944 in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late Marshall R. and Dorothy M. (Bash) Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Proger in 1980; a son, Mark A. Proger on March 9, 2013; two brothers, Floyd “Butch” Butler and John Butler, Sr.; and two sisters, Mary Doughty and Dorothy L. Means.
Emma was retired from the Jefferson County Jail where she was a cook. She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and spending time with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Connie Proger of Mingo Junction, OH, Dianna Fryzlewicz of Fayetteville, PA and Kimberly (Richard) Kimble of Rayland, OH; a son, Anthony Proger of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Richard (Karen) Butler of Rayland, OH and Kenneth Butler of Hartsville, SC; two sisters, Sally Harris of Rayland, OH and Grace (John) Meeker of Rayland, OH; five grandchildren, Michael Proger, Heather (Paul) Rynecki, Kyle Fryzlewicz, Allen Proger and Bret Schulte; and three great grandchildren, Owen Proger, Lexi Proger and Jaden Rynecki.
In following with Emma’s wishes there will be no services. Private burial at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction.
