Elsie J. Chio

Elsie J. Chio, 87, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Wednesday June 26, 2024 at the Country Club Manor Nursing Home in Steubenville, OH.

She was born November 5, 1936 in Ashland, OH, a daughter of the late Ira P. and Margaret (Witmer) Rowland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald W. Chio; three children, Timothy Chio, Tamela Hibbs and Brenda Chio; a twin sister, Alice Richardson; a brother, Forrest Rowland; and a sister, Janet Spotts.

Elsie was a homemaker and a retired hairdresser. She was Christian by Faith and enjoyed word searches, crafting and watching the birds.

Surviving are two sons, Randy (Tammy) Chio of Mingo Junction, OH and Eric Chio of Williamsport, PA; a sister, Donna Mae McDonald of Ashland, OH; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the New Pittsburg Cemetery in Wooster, OH.
