Dr. Marc and Terri Tinstman Obituary

Dr. Marc R. Tinstman, 71 and Terri G. Tinstman, 61, of Brownsville, PA, formerly of Brilliant, OH, were united in marriage on August 6, 1977 and left this earth to be with the Lord together on Tuesday May 3, 2022, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Marc was born March 17, 1951 in Mount Vernon, OH, a son of the late Charles Richard “Charlie” and Letha M. (Snair) Tinstman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jason Tinstman.

Marc graduated from Morse High School in San Diego, CA; he received his Bachelors degree from Northwest Christian University in Eugene, OR; his Masters Degree from Texas Christian University; and his Doctorate of Divinity from Northwest Baptist Theological Seminary. He began working as a minister in 1975 preaching to seven different congregations starting in Dublin, TX and retiring from the Brilliant Christian Church in 2017. After his retirement he was a part time preacher as well as a hospice chaplain in Brownsville, PA. His passion was youth ministry and he enjoyed being a youth group leader and mentor for many over the years at the various churches he served. He was a member of the Brilliant Lions Club. Trains and TCU were his two loves.

Terri was born on July 5, 1960 in Ballinger, TX, a daughter of the late Luther “LJ” and Zeva (Hammons) Laird.

Terri graduated from Dublin High School in Dublin, TX. She then received her Licensed Vocational Nursing certificate from Victoria College in Gonzales, TX, working at both Dublin Hospital and the Gonzales Rehab Center in Warm Springs, TX. She also worked as a Pharmacy Clerk at Bukmir Pharmacy in Brilliant, OH. Terri’s passion was working with children in Youth Ministries, Sunday School, the Nursery and VBS. She touched many young lives during the time she traveled around to different churches with her husband Marc.

They leave behind two children, Nathan Tinstman and his fiancé Tiffany Leigh of Richeyville, PA and Bethany Tinstman and her fiancé Brandon Dimick of Pittsburgh, PA; and a granddaughter, Jessica “Jessie” Tinstman.

Marc is survived by his siblings Rochelle Tinstman and Eric (Judy) Tinstman of Winchester, CA. Terri is survived by her siblings, Ronnie (Diane) Laird of Ballinger, TX and Jeanne Wendt of Dublin, TX.

Friends will be received to celebrate Marc and Terri’s life at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, Ohio on Thursday May 12th from 3:00 p.m. until the time of their memorial service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating.
