Donald R. "Rob" Casey, Jr.

Donald R. “Rob” Casey, Jr., 73, of Brilliant, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday December 28, 2022 at home.

He was born March 21, 1949 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Donald R. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Donley) Casey, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randy R. Casey on April 6, 2022; a grandson, Corey Casey on June 22, 2007; and a sister, Marsha Reed.

Rob was a lineman at Verizon and also an equipment operator for Starvaggi Industries. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 during Vietnam. He enjoyed watching sports and he loved animals, especially his best friends Dakota and Larry.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie (Ross) Casey, whom he married on December 20, 1969; a son, Michael (Kim) Casey of Mingo Junction, OH; two grandchildren, Jordyn Casey and her companion Tommy Vergis of Wintersville, OH and Jade Casey of Mingo Junction, OH; a great-grandson, Nicholas “Scooter” Vergis; a sister, Shawn (Jerry) Chiappelli of Shippensburg, PA; two nieces, Brandy Lynn Reed of Texas and Dina (William) Beston of Shippensburg, PA; nephew, Matthew Chiappelli of North Carolina; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth (Junior) Jarvis of Wintersville, OH, Cindy Ross of Toronto, OH and Tina McCain of Brilliant, OH.

In following with Rob’s wishes there will be no services.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Home, Brilliant.
