Donald R. “Don” “DQ” Quinn, 84, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Thursday May 21, 2020 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
He was born July 31, 1935 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Robert J. and Mildred (Moody) Quinn.
Don retired in 1993 from Consol Energy where he worked in the maintenance department and was a clerk. DQ also worked at Wheeler Funeral Home as a funeral attendant for 15 years. He served his country for 6 years in the Ohio National Guard. Don was a very active member of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church, he was the choir director for over 40 years and has held just about every office in the church. He was a 60-year member of the Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45 and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville where he sang in the choir.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Beth (Bell) Quinn; two sons, Bob (Brenda) Quinn of Brilliant, OH and Gary Quinn of Louisville, OH; a sister, Joanna (the late Paul) Slater of Masury, OH; and two granddaughters, Taylor (Christian) Madrinich and McKenzie Quinn.
Graveside services will be held at New Alexandria Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jimm Woods, officiating.
