Dolores A. "Dee" Barcalow

Dolores A. “Dee” Barcalow, 94, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Sunday September 17, 2023 at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.

She was born April 24, 1929 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Virgil C. and Katherine (Striff) Davidson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Barcalow in 1996; two sons, SSG Mark Waltz and Gerald “Wayne” Barcalow; a brother, Virgil “Skip” Davidson; a sister, Norma Johnson; and an infant grandson.

Dee was a nanny for 40 years serving various families in the area. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1947. Dee is currently a member of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church; a former member of Bell Chapel Methodist Church; a member of the former Raynes Church, where she was on the board and a member of the womens society.

Surviving are two sons, Keith (Sharon) Barcalow of New Cumberland, WV and Rod (Renee) Barcalow of Columbus, OH; three, daughters-in-law, Debbie Barcalow of Steubenville, OH and Renea Waltz of Steubenville, OH; and Mickey Barcalow of Mingo Junction, OH; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Vaughn Foster, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction.
