Deborah Lee (Carmine) Vag

Deborah Lee (Carmine) Vag, 74, of Cornelius, NC, formerly of Mingo Junction, OH passed away on Friday June 28, 2024.

She was born September 20, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late William J. Carmine and Barbara (Switzer) Carmine of Las Vegas, NV.

Debbie retired from Jefferson County MRDD where she worked as a secretary for 15 years.  She was a St. Andrew Orthodox Church member as well as a participant in the St. Andrew Sisterhood and Parish Council. She was also a member of the former Mingo American Legion Post 351 Auxiliary, AARP, and the Mingo Senior Citizens Club.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Michael Gregory Vag, whom she married October 5, 1969; two sons, Jason Vag of Cornelius, NC and Jeffery (Ashely) Vag of Cornelius, NC; four grandchildren, Addyson, Kasey, Alaina and Lexi; a brother, Joseph (Karen) Carmine of Pahrump, NV; and a sister, Cathy (Steve) Buffone of Las Vegas, NV.

Debbie cherished every moment spent with family more than anything else. Whether it was baking family recipes with her grandchildren, talking about Mingo or watching her favorite football teams, Ohio State and Big Red, in the fall.

There will be a private service at the St. Andrew Orthodox Church Cemetery on Tuesday July 2nd with V. Rev. John Kopcha, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed in Debbie’s name to St. Andrew Church, 100 Summit Ave., Mingo Junction, OH 43938.
