Dave Gallagher

Dave Gallagher, 64, of Fresno, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday January 7, 2023 at Union Hospital in Dover, OH, surrounded by his loving family. 

Dave was born on October 1, 1958 in Canton, OH, the son of the late Helen A. (Geddes) and Bill Savage. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jim Downard; and two brothers, Charlie (Shirley) Gallagher and Dennis Gallagher. 

Dave was a district manager for Waste Management. He was a member and a Deacon at The Bible Fellowship Church in West Lafayette, OH. He was very active in his community, always spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He had a jail ministry in Coshocton, OH. He was a member of the Hermon Lodge No. 6 Masonic Lodge in Clarksburg, WV.

Dave was a boxer in his younger days and loved to keep physically fit. He was known for his strong work ethic, kindness to all, and always having a smile on his face. Dave touched the lives of many and left a mark on this world. 

He is survived by his loving wife Becky (Downard) Gallagher, whom he married May 30, 1987; three children, Erica Mesler and her companion Cody Gray of West Lafayette, OH, Brad (Alyssa) Gallagher of West Lafayette, OH and Jacob (Kelly) Gallagher of Warsaw, OH; his mother-in-law, Carol Downard; sister-in-law, Lora (Kenny) Grimes; brother-in-law, John (Ann) Downard, all of Mingo Junction, OH; four siblings, John (Emma) Gallagher of Amsterdam, OH, Jim (Jeanie) Gallagher of Elgin, OK, Jane Snead of Covington, VA and Kevin (Debbie) Gallagher of Syracuse, OH; a sister-in-law, Bunny Gallagher of Amsterdam, OH; two grandchildren, Abel Mesler and Lincoln Gallagher; one grandchild on the way, Hudson Gallagher; and many nieces and nephews.

Chapel services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, 801 Canton Rd., Wintersville, OH with Pastor and dear friend, Jim Evans, officiating.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday March 18th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The M Event Centre, 24688 County Rd. 10, Coshocton, OH.

Memorial contributions may be directed in Dave’s memory to a church of the donor’s choice.
