Ode to Charles Owen DeGarmo age 76
An obituary that is clean and bright doesn’t seem at all just right
But a celebration of life is what we have here that much is crystal clear
Charles Owen DeGarmo was a funny, happy, loving, quirky man
He loved to laugh, play cards, tell stories and was his grandkids biggest fan
He managed to survive a car accident, heart attack and a previous neurological event
He also managed to survive 5 children driving, through college, and marriage without incident
Go big or go home is what has happened now with a stroke that took him but not sure how
We all said goodbye in the varied ways we could and he passed with a baseball cap on his head looking good
Dad is survived by his wife Suzanne of 43 years, no doubt there were many times of tears and cheers
He is survived by his children, Chase, Adam, Bill, Erica, and Emily who he would always encourage
He is survived by his daughter Bernice from a previous marriage
Nine grandkids ages 6 months to 16 years he was able to know and much love they did show
For their Pap was always available for a hug, a funny joke, funny face or good story
Also when he played or walked his dog Copper, he was in his glory
Dad was 76 years young when his body finally gave out
We know he’s in Heaven walking around out and about
He gets to play with the previously deceased pets, talk and catch up with two of his siblings and parents
A reunion of sorts a seemingly happy occurrence
Down on Earth we will deal with loss and stages of grief but he went in his sleep so there is some relief
Celebrations in memory of Dad will take place and each time we remember him you’ll see a smile on our face
Above is the Dad, Pap, Chuck, Charlie we’d like you to know
