Alice F. Hoover, 76, of Brilliant, OH, passed away suddenly Friday February 21, 2020 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
She was born April 6, 1943 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late James C. and Pearl I. (Kirkland) Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Dick and Doug Kennedy; and a sister, Patricia Fox.
Alice was a retired from the Buckeye Local School District where she was a library aid for over thirty years. She was a member of the Brilliant Presbyterian Church and she loved reading.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Hoover, whom she married March 25, 1962; three children, Kelly (Donald) Roe of Lexington, KY, Donna (Steven) Rine of Zanesville, OH and Jim (Robyn) Hoover of Mingo Junction, OH; two sisters, Sue Kennedy of Daphne, AL and Janet (Donald) Rensi of Vonore, TN; seven grandchildren, Czack Roe, Chaz (Sarah) Roe, Kennedy and Mackenzie Rine, and Hailee, Dalton and Trey Hoover; eight great-grandchildren; a special niece and her best friend, Debbie Sutphin; two nephews, Tom (Janet) Fox and Don (Debbie) Hall; and her fur baby, Eve.
Friends will be received on Monday from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where her funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Ater, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
