Alice L. (Loobey) Brandon

Alice L. Brandon, 86, of New Alexandria, OH, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday July 15, 2024 at Weirton Medical Center.

She was born on January 27, 1938 in Philip, SD to the late Lawrence & Thelma Loobey of Sturgis, SD.

Alice grew up on a ranch in western South Dakota.  She met and married her husband of 65 yrs; Albert Brandon, who was stationed at Ellsworth A.F.B. on May 19, 1956. They moved to Ohio in 1959. She was a member of Kolmont Church, and Kum Joyne Us Class, she served on several committees and the Sunday School Board. She was honored as “Mother of the Year” in 2004. She retired from Big Bear Plus where she worked for 27 years. She started the Jolly Timers 500 card club in 1962 and was the last original member. She enjoyed her church activities, playing cards, baking & making Christmas cookies for her family & friends 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Brandon, a daughter, Vicki Brandon of Brilliant, Ohio; and her four brothers along with Al’s parents and six siblings.

She is survived by her son, Wade (Tracy) Brandon; two grandchildren, Connor Brandon and Rachel (Nathan) Pohl of Streetsboro, Ohio; three sisters-in-law’s and numerous nephews and nieces.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant Ohio on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Evangelist Jack Ernest and Pastor Herb Fletcher, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
