Winona W. Rish, 95, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday November 16, 2023 at the Schoenbrun Healthcare in New Philadelphia, OH.

She was born October 20, 1928 in New Alexandria, OH, a daughter of the late Myrtle M. (Morris) Buell Hobson and Harold Lee Buell, then loved and raised by Gerald A. Hobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne A. Rish on January 19, 2008; her second husband, George Slife on July 18, 2022; and a step-grandson, Joshua Reichman in 2003.

Winona was a homemaker and a very active member of the New Alexandria Methodist Church. She and her husband Wayne were youth counselors for the teen class for several years and she was very involved with the Methodist Womens group. She was a member of the Steubenville Womens AGLOW.  Winona often remarked that she has had a good life and got to do many things….camping, traveling, many winters in Florida, several Caribbean cruises and two trips to the Holy Land.

Surviving a beloved daughter, Alona (Harry) Reichman of Gnadenhutten, OH; a brother, Rev. William (Janet) Buell of Lady Lake, FL; two sisters, Necia (the late Jack) Hosenfield of New Alexandria, OH and Judith (Dr. James) VanCuren of Brownsburg, IN; and a step-grandson, Samuel (Misty) Reichman of Harrisburg, PA.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, on Monday from 3-7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jimm Woods, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
