IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia "Ginny"
(Napor) Diberardino
June 29, 1928 – December 17, 2024
Virginia "Ginny" DiBerardino, 96, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Virginia was born June 29, 1928 in Steubenville, Ohio. She was the only child of the late John and Nellie Melching Napor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Joe; her step mother, Jennie (Alberta) Long Napor; and a step-sister, Harriett Aldridge.
Ginny was a homemaker, a loving and devoted wife and a very special mother. She took joy in taking care of her family and putting them first. Ginny worked for a few years in the Denmark's Children's Department. When Joe retired, they became "Snow Birds" and traveled to Ft. Myers, Florida for the winters. They did this for 15 years until Joe passed in 1996. Ginny then continued to go until 2020 when she became unable to travel any longer.
Ginny was a member of the Harmony Church of Mingo Junction for 66 years. She loved God and her church family.
She will be sadly missed by her children, her daughter Sharon (Fred) Kolopajlo of Mingo Junction, whom she lived with and her son Greg (Debbie) DiBerardino of Wintersville. Her only grandson and the joy of her life, Tim (Kristi) DIBerardino of Findlay, Ohio, and her two great grandchildren whom she loved and was so proud of Abby and Brady DiBerardino, several nieces and nephews, her church family, and friends.
Special Thanks to her nurse Sandy from Valley Hospice who was an angel to our Mom and to our family. She helped get us through a very difficult time showing love and compassion. We would also like to thank her aide, Tiffany.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH on Friday from 4-8 p.m. On Saturday there will be viewing at the Harmony Church of Mingo Junction from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sam Davis, officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.
