Vincent P. "Vince" Fristick, Sr., 84, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Thursday June 1, 2017 at home surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born February 5, 1933 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late Anthony and Anna (Godochik) Fristick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace (Rogers) Fristick, two brothers, Thomas and Leo Fristick; and two sisters, Martha Rast and Roberta Smith.
Vince retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. in 1994 where he was a diesel electrician. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and was a member of the Mingo Knights of Columbus Council #4361. Vince was an avid golfer and a great family man. He was a devoted caretaker to his late wife Grace for seven years.
Surviving are his four children, Vincent (Susie) Fristick, Jr. of Steubenville, OH, Cathy (Virgil) Carter of Richmond, OH, Michael (Luanne) Fristick of Washington, PA and David (Beth) Fristick of Wheeling, WV; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Vanessa and Michael Fristick, Ron (Dawnel) Dayton, Joseph (Tara) Dayton, Heather (Dustin) DeFranco, Olivia (Scott) Berry and Reva Fristick; and ten great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction. On Saturday, June 3, there will be viewing at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Walter Heinz, celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, with Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Agnes Church are appreciated.
On Friday there will be a Vigil service at 7:45 p.m. and the K of C Rosary service will follow.
