Obituary

Tim A. Fair, 69, of Steubenville, OH, passed away unexpected Sunday July 19, 2026 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

He was born September 13, 1956 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late William and Naoma (Horne) Fair.

Tim was employed for the past 15 years as the head salesman at Guitar Center in Robinson, PA, where he shared his knowledge and love of music with countless customers and friends. Before joining Guitar Center, he worked as a luggage handler for U.S. Airways at the Pittsburgh Airport. He also dedicated 20 years to the sales department at the former Gerrero Music in Steubenville and Wheeling, building lasting connections through his work and his passion for music.

A gifted musician, Tim was especially talented on both the electric and acoustic guitar. Over the years, he performed with several bands, including Bluetooth, On the Air, The Stand, Squids for Peace, and Flag, and he enjoyed sharing his music with others. In addition to music, Tim was an avid muskie fisherman who loved spending time on the water and spent many peaceful hours aboard his boat.

Surviving are his companion of 20 years, Diana Wester of Steubenville, OH; a brother, Rick (Dianne) Fair of Tiltonsville, OH; a sister, LeAnn (Bob) Carpenter of Mingo Junction, OH; his nephews and niece, William Dwight Fair of Philadelphia, PA, Kaylee Carpenter and her fiancé Evan Morrison of Mingo Junction, OH and Sam (Jenna) Carpenter of Mingo Junction, OH; a great-niece, Dawson Carpenter; a great-nephew, Blake Carpenter; his cats, Zorro, Flash and Spikey; and many dear friends.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at Noon with Kenny Kourim, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
