(Dodson) Ubrin
September 4, 1949 – August 1, 2025
Sue A. (Dodson) Ubrin, 75, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband and her three devoted daughters on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA after battling several chronic illness' for over 35 years.
She was born September 4, 1949 in Steubenville, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Estill Dodson and Betty Lou (Petty) Dodson Deibel; her brother, Richard Lee "Dickie" Dodson; her step-father, George F. Deibel; and her beloved dog, Bella.
Sue was a strong believer in her faith. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Mingo Junction and a faithful participant in the online services at First Westminster Presbyterian Church.
As a fellow ostomate, Sue provided invaluable support and encouragement to others navigating the challenges of ostomy life. Her knowledge and compassion touched the lives of many.
Sue's generosity knew no bounds. She was loving, selfless, and kind—always placing the needs of others before her own. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support made her a treasured presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of almost 57 years, John R. Ubrin, whom she married August 17, 1968; three daughters, Amy (Steve) Gaydosh of Mingo Junction, OH, Mindi (Troy) Dixon of Cranberry Twp., PA and Kilee (Chris) Canestraro of Mingo Junction, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Aubrie (Jacob) Sutton, Tyler (Yasmina) Gaydosh, Payton Gaydosh, Taylor Dixon, Trent Dixon, Caiden Canestraro and Kendall Canestraro.
Many would describe Sue as a true gem, a rarity. She was more than just a friend and to have her in your life was a true blessing.
In respecting Sue's wishes, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday August 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Westminster Presbyterian Church, 235 N 4th St., Steubenville, OH 43952. The service will be brief, followed by a time of gathering and dinner in the social hall downstairs .
