Sharon E. Sims, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away on her 72nd birthday, Wednesday March 22, 2023, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

She was born March 22, 1951 in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late William A. and Thelma Ruth (Yost) Bartz, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Lee Bartz and Arch J. Bartz, Sr.; and a sister, Mary Jane Bartz.

Sharon worked for 30 years on the paint line at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel at the Beech Bottom Plant. She was the first graduating class from Brooke High School in 1970. Sharon was a member of the Toronto Senior Center, Prime Time Center and the Wellsburg Moose Lodge. She loved collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia.

Surviving are her husband, John H. "Bucky" Sims, whom she married January 13, 1975; a daughter, Serena (Tim) Matter of South Hills, PA; a brother, William "Bill" (Judy) Bartz, III of Windsor Heights, WV; a sister, Jean Ann (David Jr.) Haught of Wooster, OH; and two grandchildren, Cage and Devin Matter.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Craig Greathouse, officiating.
