Ronald G. Brandfass, 84, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Wednesday June 3, 2026 at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.

He was born May 28, 1942 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Edward B. and Virginia P. (Pond) Brandfass.

Ron retired in 1999 as a mechanical supervisor at the AEP Cardinal Plant in Brilliant. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Brilliant Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder, as well as Brilliant American Legion Post 573, the Brilliant Lions Club, Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45, and the Scottish Rite. He also served on Brilliant Council for eight years and was a former board member of the Brilliant Water Department.

Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured his family above all else. He had a quiet, gentle way about him and a heart full of kindness. He also enjoyed following Ohio State Buckeyes football and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his wife, Jayne (Taylor) Brandfass, whom he married May 30, 1964; two sons, Stacey (Amy) Brandfass of Northfield, OH and Kevin (Joee) Brandfass of Marysville, OH; three grandchildren, Madison (Jarod) Yoakam, Mackenzie (Allyson) Brandfass and Dylan Brandfass; and a great-granddaughter, June Yoakam.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and also on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. There will be a legion service at 11:00 a.m. and his funeral service will follow with his son Stacey Brandfass, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery. There will be a lions club service on Sunday at 3 p.m.
